- Inside -

Notice the large interior space which allows for many splice connections. Click Here to see a sample image of capacity.
- Construction -

Constructed of Non Corroding and Non Rusting Heavy Duty Neutral Brown ABS Plastic that is designed to blend in to any garden and hold under the most extreme outdoor conditions.
- Mechanics -

Ports: Comes with 8 individual 1/2" round ports that are sealed with removable rubber plugs. Simply remove the plug for the port you need to use. In the rare event that you may need to expand these 1/2" ports, they can be easily widened with any drill.

Cap: Comes with a removable cap that requires no tools to remove or secure. It simply uses pressure seal technology. It is also designed to increase the interior compartment's capacity.
(see above Inside image)
- Mounting -

Notice the bottom comes with a built-in solid brass 1/2" Adapter which allows it to screw into any of our Exclusive Stakes. For dirt or grass mounting, we suggest using one of the below stakes.

Choose our Exclusive Super Stake #PSK1 or our Exclusive PowerPost #PP-120V. Either stake will give you the best possible mounting for dirt or grass installations.

In the above image, we purposely used several different types and sizes of cable to show how our Exclusive Containment Hub can accomodate any type of cable.

Above image shows the cap removed allowing you to view the inside spacious wiring compartment. We used 10/2 guaged cable as the entry cable from the transformer and the "Blue Winged" wire nuts which are the largest available as an example to emphazine the large inside capacity of this containment hub.
(Wire Nuts and Cable not included with containment hub)

SAMPLE APPLICATIONS
EVEN FIXTURE LAYOUT

This is an example of a layout where the fixtures are evenly centered around the containment hub. The image will change to the same layout without the containment hub. Notice how much more cable will be used without the containment hub. This containment hub will minimize the cable and minimize the labor!
EVEN FIXTURE LAYOUT

This is another example of a layout where the fixtures are evenly centered around the containment hub but at greater equal distances to the hub since the hub is positioned next to the transformer.
NON EVEN FIXTURE LAYOUT

This is an example of a more realistic layout where the fixtures are not evenly centered around the hub showing you that even spacing is not a necessity. The image will change to the same layout without the containment hub. Notice how much more cable will be used without the containment hub. This containment hub will minimize the cable and minimize the labor!
NON EVEN FIXTURE LAYOUT

This is also another example of a more realistic layout where the fixtures are not evenly centered around the hub. The advantage to this is that you have all your connection points in one location next to your transformer, but the disadvantage is that you will use more cable to reach your light fixtures.
Tip: If any fixture being used cannot reach the containment hub with the cable that is already attached to it, and you need to splice an extension cable to have it reach the hub, then we highly suggest using our Exclusive 3M Splice Kit at that splice point. (click here for an example) Please Note: The 3M Splice Kit will NOT fit inside this containment hub. This is only for the purpose noted above.
"IN-LINE" LAYOUT

This is an example of an "In-Line" Layout which typically does not require our containment hub. An "In-Line" Layout as you can see above is basically fixtures that are laid out in a straight line. Hence the word, "In-Line".
COMBINATION "IN-LINE" & "SPLIT-OFF" LAYOUT

This is an example of a Layout that we highly recommend using the Containment Hub for. If you notice, part of it is an "In-Line" Layout but at one point, it splits off into two separate directions. This split off point is where we recommend using the Containment Hub. All other splice points (displayed above with wire nuts), we highly recommend using our Exclusive 3M Splice Kit for ultimate wire protection.
SEPARATED "IN-LINE" LAYOUT
Below is an example of an application that has 3 groups of different fixtures on separate "In-Line" patterns. These 3 separate locations are being powered by 1 transformer. This is where the Containment Hub comes to the rescue. Notice how the containment hub allows you to basically connect these 3 separate locations into 1 safe and central connection point. Now you use Less Cable, Less Labor and don't have to worry about multiple connection areas and exposed or 'buried in the dirt' connection points.

SPLICE POINT
In the above image, there are 11 total splice points where we are showing wire nuts in the image at all 11 of these splice points. Wire nuts are normally what is used at this point (click here for our affordable quality wire nuts), but for the best possible connection, we recommend our 3M Splice Kits (click here for details).

SPOT LIGHT
In the above image, there are 5 total spot lights. We are showcasing in this example, our popular PSDX100 model. For our entire spot/flood light line, click here.

AREA LIGHT
In the above image, there are 6 total area lights. We are showcasing in this example, our popular PA311 model. For our entire area and pathway light line, click here.

IN GROUND WELL LIGHT
In the above image, there are 2 total in ground well lights. We are showcasing in this example, our popular PG450 model. For our entire in ground well light line, click here.

TRANSFORMER
In the above image, notice the one transformer that feeds all of the light fixtures. We have a wide variety of outdoor transformers at many different wattages. For our entire outdoor transformer line, click here.

CONTAINMENT HUB
In the above image, one containment hub is being used. Depending on your application, you may need more than one. Scroll up for our Tips, or click here to purchase.

AFTER CONNECTING ALL YOUR WIRES
Once you're done wiring all of your fixtures through the hub to your transformer, there's one last thing we recommend you do: Spray ALL your connections with CCL's Electroshield.

This will water proof and weather proof your connections as well as protect them from corrosion and moisture. It's simple to do and very inexpensive considering the value of your fixtures, transformer and cable.

Click Here for more information about CCL's Exclusive Electroshield. If you choose to add a can of Electroshield to your order, you will be prompted to do so when buying this hub.

For ultimate protection against water, moisture, insects, etc., we recommend spraying all potential areas such as the ports and even the seem as showed to the right. If you need to access the hub box after you've sprayed the seem closed, you can do so by simply giving it a hard turn to break the seal, opening it up again. Even though the cap naturally has a nice closing suction, this is just a little extra for piece of mind.

DIMENSIONS

HOW MANY CONTAINMENT HUBS SHOULD I BUY?

This really varies on your layout and we hope that all the different examples on this page will help you determine how many to use. However, based on customer feedback, we have decided that it is safe to say that 1 containment hub is recommended for every 300 watts. For example: If your application's
total wattage is 300 Watts, use 1 containment hub; If your application's wattage is 600 watts, use 2 containment hubs, etc. Or, another option to consider is 1 containment hub for every run, so this throws that wattage recommendation out the window. If you're doing 300 Watts on two separate runs, you now may need 2 hubs for that 300 watts.

Another thing to factor in (using the 300 watts as an example) is the amount of light fixtures you use on the 300 Watt load. For example: If your total wattage is 300 watts and you're using 30 fixtures, then only 1 containment hub is not practical as it would be hard to fit 30 fixture splices into it. But, at the same time, this layout is not very realistic anyway because this would mean that you're using 30 fixtures at 10 watts each. Another example would be if you have...say 16 fixtures at 18 watts each, which equals 288 watts (still under 300 watts). Using 1 containment hub for this application would be more practical, depending on the cable thickness coming in from each individual fixture and the wire nuts used.

We hope that you now understand that based on the fact that there are so many different fixtures, and there are so many types of cable that come with these fixtures, it is almost impossible to give you an accurate measurement. The best suggestion that we can make, is by looking at the interior size shown in the dimensions image above (total interior compartment space is 3 1/2" height by 3 5/8" width).

If you want an accurate measurement of the inside compartment before purchasing, we suggest creating this containment hub out of a cardboard box at home based on the posted dimensions. That will give you an idea of how much size you have to work with as far as the interior space. Now, the overall unit sizes (5" Height by 3 7/8" Width), but again, your concern for now is the interior wiring space. And keep in mind, if you cannot fit all your 300 watts worth of lighting connections into the one hub (which is very rare), then you can always order an additional containment hub!

Again, please be advised that the above tips are just that: Tips Only, and are not Recommendations, Suggestions or to be considered as any sort of advice on electrical, layout or the use of this containment hub. We are not responsible for the use or misuse of this product and we highly suggest consulting with a local licensed electrical or landscape contractor.
